Match Details:

The 2nd game of the Duleep Trophy 2019 will be played between India Red and India Blue at the Alur Cricket Stadium in Bangalore.

The match starts at 9:30 AM local time (IST) (4:00 AM GMT)

Preview:

The Duleep Trophy 2019/20 didn’t get off to the best of the starts as the first game got washed out with only 49 overs of play possible. India Green bowlers made merry of the conditions at the Just Cricket ground. Their pacers kept taking wickets regularly as India Blue were put into tatters. The team led by Shubman Gill got reduced to 112 for the loss of six wickets before no play took place on the last two days.

They will now face India Red at the Alur Cricket Stadium in the game beginning on Friday. The Red team will be led by Priyank Panchal and will open the innings with Abhimanyu Easwaran. This will be a crucial game for the Blue team who need more than one point for qualifying for the final if the match takes place. If this game also gets abandoned, India Blue will be the first side to qualify for the final.

Weather Condition/Report:

Bangalore has been under rains over the last ten days or so. The first game of this Duleep Trophy and the Karnataka Premier League matches have been affected by the same. The ground conditions are not that perfect which mean there could be a long delay to get the conditions suitable for play.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Alur provides a typical wicket for 4-day matches. There will be a bit of swing on the first day and troubles the batsmen for at least two sessions. It will be good for batting until 3rd day afternoon once the excessive swing. The spinners come into scene from that point and scoring even 200 will be tough in the 4th innings.

Team News:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Anmolpreet Singh, Ricky Bhui, Ishan Kishan and Axar Patel are included in the India A squad for the unofficial ODI series against South Africa A. That series will start on 29th while the Duleep Trophy match will end on 26th and gives two days gap. Since there is no update from BCCI about the future of players named in unofficial ODI series and Duleep Trophy, all the six common players might remain in Bangalore.

All three players are averaging around 70 in the first-class cricket in the last 12 months. Aditya Sarwate is another guy who could excel in this game. He claimed 55 wickets and scored 354 runs during the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy.

The captains of both teams Priyank Panchal and Shubman Gill will be the most preferred multipliers given their form in the longer format.

Expert Advice:

Both India Blue and India Green picked an extra pacer in the previous game. If that decision was based on the available conditions, we might see Blue and Red fielding with at least two specialist spinners.

Probable Winners:

India Blue is expected to earn maximum points from this game if the weather permits at least one completed innings of both teams.
