Dwayne Bravo makes a special gesture for 'brother' MS Dhoni

The Chennai Super Kings won their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title by beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. Prior to the tournament, the hype about CSK’s comeback and most importantly, MS Dhoni’s return to the team made headlines. After serving a two-year suspension, the onus was on the former Indian skipper to help the Yellow Army restamp their authority on the league.

Prior to the event, Dhoni was a recipient of a fair amount of flak from the cricketing fraternity owing to a drop in his big-hitting abilities. However, the veteran came into his own and trod the attacking approach, exactly what he is known for. He turned out to be a fulcrum of the team and eventually guided them home with sheer authority. Dhoni had his difficulties but didn’t allow the same to unnerve him.

Bravo’s respect for his captain  

Dwayne Bravo, one of Dhoni’s teammates, who played for CSK from 2011-2015. Thereafter, he plied his trade for the Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017, however, the Men in Yellow brought him back in the auction in this year’s auction. He wasn’t at his very best with the leather, but he managed to churn out some useful knocks lower down the order for his team pretty consistently.

Dhoni is celebrating his 37th birthday and wishes and admiration for the veteran have poured in for the enigmatic personality. He is currently in the UK, playing India’s T20I series versus England. Yesterday, he played a short cameo lower down the order which helped the Men in Blue rack up a competitive score for the hosts to track down. Meanwhile, Bravo also didn’t let go the opportunity to wish his CSK skipper.

Recently, the Windies cricketer made a video in a slideshow format, featuring Dhoni and uploaded the same on Instagram. He also captioned the video and wrote, ” Wishing @mahi7781 happy birthday 🎉🎊 to a very special teammate, friend,captain, Brother #37#RunDWorld #Champion #7″
