England tour of Sri Lanka 2018 schedule confirmed

The schedule for England’s tour of Sri Lanka has recently been announced. The series will be played over a couple of months in October and November which will include five One Day Internationals, three Tests, and a one-off T20 International. The English team will arrive in Colombo on October 1 after which the series will commence.

A hectic series altogether

The tour starts with a couple of practice matches to be played between England and Colombo at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Three Lions will then play the ODI series, which starts with a Day/Night encounter on October 1 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Kandy and Colombo are the remaining venues for the series.

The one-off T20 will be played following the ODI series. Thereafter, England will play a tour-match against CCC at Colombo. The three-match Test series starts on November 6 at the Galle International Stadium followed by matches in Kandy and Colombo.

The English team has recently been in prime form. They played against New Zealand in a five-match ODI series and comprehensively emerged victorious. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s form has been topsy-turvy over the past few months. The Islanders are currently playing the Nidahas Trophy featuring India and Bangladesh.
