The World No.1 ODI team England will take on a near 2nd string Australia side in a 5-match ODI series but are coming off a defeat to Scotland. Their 6-run loss against the Scotts was the first occasion of a No.1 ranked side losing an ODI to an Associate nation. This series will be crucial for the Aussies given the World Cup will be played in England next year. It will give the exposure to the newcomers in the absence of the likes of Steven Smith, David Warner and the pace battery.
