Day five of the fourth Test between England and India at the Oval in London is beautifully set up. England need 291 runs while India needs to take 10 wickets. There will be 90 or 95 overs to be bowled on day five and it is expected that it will be a great day’s cricket. On top of that, all the tickets have been sold out which means there will be a great crowd to witness the final day.

The fact that the series is tied on 1-1 also adds a little more context to it. Though there is one more Test left in Old Trafford, Manchester, the ongoing one is expected to have a cracking final day with all three results still on the cards. It should be noted though, that day four pretty much went India’s way with England finishing it nicely.

Day four started with India resuming on 270 for 3 with a lead of 171 runs. In the morning session, the hosts pegged India back with three crucial wickets, one of which was of skipper Virat Kohli, who looked impressive during his 44. Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant got together for a seventh-wicket partnership, which lasted for about 26 overs, accumulating 100 runs for India.

Thakur ended with 60 runs while Pant got his first fifty of the series but was dismissed shortly after. There were cameos from Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav who scored 24 and 25 respectively. All of this helped India finish on 466 in their second innings, setting a total of 368 runs for England to win this Test. Fortunately for the hosts, openers Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns managed to keep India at bay with their unbeaten stand of 77 runs.

Here is a look at how the weather is expected to play on day 5 of England vs India fourth Test

Day four saw sunshine through the day and day five is expected to be the same. It is expected that fans will get to see the whole day’s play without any rain interruption. There could be some clouds over the head between 11 AM and 2 PM local time but mostly the sun will be out. There is a 14% chance of rain, according to Accuweather. The temperature is likely to be in the mid-20s. The sunset is supposed to be at around 7:40 PM, which indicates a great finish is on the cards.
