Five uncapped Players who are failing in the IPL: Since the start of the 2015 IPL, there are many uncapped players who have made a mark by some brilliant performances. Kolkata Knight Riders’ Surya Kumar Yadav with his timely cameos, Shreyas Iyer’s consistency at the top for Delhi Daredevils, Dominic Joseph’s accurate bowling for Delhi, Deepak Hooda’s brilliance for Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab’s pace duo of Anureet Singh and Sandeep Sharma are some of the examples. But there are some uncapped players, who were expected to do well but failed to live up to the expectations. Here are the list of those uncapped players who failed to set the IPL on fire. 1 – KC Cariappa KC Cariappa kkr.(Photo Source:Kolkata Knight Riders) Hailed as the mystery spinner after the end of 2015 IPL auctions as Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a whopping 2.4 Crores INR. A lot was expected from the Karnataka bowler, who was said to bowl both offies and leggies without a change in the way of his release. He was given a chance against Royal Challengers Bangalore and was smashed out of the attack courtesy a match winning 96 run knock from the bat of Chris Gayle. In the two overs he bowled, Cariappa conceded 28 runs and hardly troubled the batsmen. He was dropped for the next matches. 2 – Sanju Samson Sanju Samson RR. (Photo Source: BCCI) Sanju Samson was one of the most successful youngsters in the IPL over the last two seasons and was retained by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2014 auctions. A lot was hyped of him and he was also touted to replace MS Dhoni as India’s wicket keeper. Since the start of the 2015 IPL, Samson has managed to score only 68 runs in the seven innings he played for the Royals. He was made to open the innings in the absence of Shane Watson and was also asked to bat in the middle order when the Aussie came back. But in both the positions, Samson failed to do well and looks completely off-colour in the tournament. 3 – Karun Nair Karun Nair RR. (Photo Source: BCCI) Once again, it is a batsman from Rajasthan Royals who has found himself a place in the players who failed to do well in the IPL. After he had a good outing in the 2014 edition and the 2015 Ranji Trophy in which he scored 709 runs in 16 innings including a triple hundred in the finals against Tamil Nadu. But in the IPL, he was made to bat in the middle order and was not successful there. In the ongoing edition of IPL, he has managed only 71 runs from 6 innings. 4 – Jasprit Bumrah Mumbai Indians Pacer Jasprit Bumrah. (Photo Source: BCCI) Mumbai Indians Pacer Jasprit Bumrah too did not have a good tournament so far as he failed to make amends with the ball. Since the start of the season, he has taken just three wicket and have gone for runs in all those matches. It is very evident by his economy of over 10 this season. His failure to shine with the ball is one of the reasons why Mumbai Indians’ bowling was below par in the season. 5 – Mandeep Singh Mandeep Singh RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) One more youngster who is failing to perform well for his team in the ongoing edition of IPL is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Mandeep Singh. Mandeep was Punjab’s captain in the Ranji trophy and did well for them by scoring 506 runs in the tournament. But in the IPL, he has got only limited chances and failed to make them count. In the first two matches, he got out for six and duck before getting dropped and was called back. Bangalore will depend on him to do well in the middle order during the remainder of IPL.
