The International Cricket Council (ICC) have approved the following the event and it will the first ever moment where international cricketers from all over the world will mark their presence in the entertaining contest.

The ex-New Zealand cricketers will join the faction of former cricketers including former Indians Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif, South African veterans Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, from Australia Michael Hussey, English cricketers Monty Panesar, Owais Shah and many more star players. These players will be divided into two teams, Palace Diamonds and Royals. Royals will hold a strong line-up as the New Zealand ex-cricketers will join the team for the first edition.

Playing conditions and the pitch setup

The organizers of the competition released a statement on the playing conditions for the matches stating that the lake freezes into an extremely thick layer of ice which is covered by the falling snow. They said that the lake withstands the capacity to hold a weight of more than 200 tons. So the above-mentioned area would be an appropriate one for the construction of the pavilion village and the grandstands where the crowd can come in large numbers to support the star-studded event.

“The lake freezes into an extremely thick layer of ice which then is covered by the soft falling snow, enabling the lake to withstand more than 200 tons of weight. This makes it the perfect area to construct a pavilion village and grandstands to watch and support the festivities,” said the statement released by the organizers of the event as quoted by The Dominion Post.

A total of two T20 matches would be played featuring the top stars at the St Moritz Lake which is situated at the foot of the Swiss Alps, from February 8 -9.
