Hailing from different cultures won't affect Hardik-Natasa relationship, feels marriage counsellor

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya brought an end to all the speculations around his relationship with Serbian model Natasa Stankovic when he finally made it public by posting a video of him proposing to the model, and the latter accepting it in what was a fairytale proposal.

The video instantly went viral on all social media platforms and since then, fans, media personnel, former and current cricketers and the couples’ friends have taken to social media to post their heartfelt wishes for the Hardik and Natasa.

But, the other side of the coin has also been very much visible. Pandya was trolled for his complexion, his looks and also for his obnoxious comments on a chat show, for which he was suspended last year. Pandya and Natasa come from completely different backgrounds and cultures, and sometimes it becomes difficult for a couple, hailing from completely obscure backgrounds to gel-in, which leads to compatibility issues in the long run.

However, Delhi-based renowned marriage and relationship counsellor Dr Kamal Khurana has a completely different view on this. According to Khurana, the fact that both come from different cultures will not pose any problems in the long-run. According to the counsellor, love is the common binding factor in such cases.

“Of course different cultures mixing has its own challenges, but at the same time, the critical binding factor is love. Love is an attitude that needs to be there in both people who come together. Even though Natasha hails from Europe but she must have studied Indian culture quite a bit, as a part of her homework to get established in Bollywood.” Dr Khurana, who has degrees in MSc & Ph.D (Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapy) and is a Certified Professional Coach, told Deccan Chronicle.

Both Hardik and Natasa may be hailing from different parts of the world but one thing that binds them is their story of earning success after lots of hard work and plethora of struggle, something Dr Khurana feels would have attracted the couple towards each other.

He added, “Hardik and Natasha have had their similar journeys from struggle to success. This must have also been a factor which made them relate well. More important is that they continue to relate and keep their attitude of understanding, owning and caring for each other. “Of course there has been a history of love relationship between cricket stars and actors. When it comes to women, they get attracted to the masculinity more than body appearance as in case of men”

Pandya was viciously trolled for his comments on a chat show last year but the counsellor feels Natasa accepting Hardik’s proposal shows the kind of support that the latter has got from her lady love 

“In the heat of the moment, anyone can become candid loose control over words and behaviour. More important is what support system one has. Hardik would have received a lot of empathy and support, from Natasha on the same. And that’s what a relationship between a couple who is coupled well”, the counsellor concluded.
