Hotstar is all set to launch its IPL streaming rights in US with Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh

In a first, the IPL will be officially broadcast in the United States.

Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start in months time and one will have to say, that streets all around the world have already started to blare horn, fans are on their feet and excitement amongst fans has reached the highest echelon. The most loved franchise-based T20 tournament is scheduled to begin in April this year and seven-week excitement will continue till the latter half of may.

The media rights for next five years has been bought by Star India at a whopping price of over 16,000 crores. The Star seems to be working regressively with the full fortitude to start their first broadcasting edition on a high. Also, Star will be streaming in the United States of America this time around and preparations seem to be in full swing.

Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh to tour New York on 24th Feb

The former Indian head coach Anil Kumble and veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh are all set to head the US in weeks time to launch ‘Hotstar’ as the broadcast for this edition of Indian Premier League. The duo will be present in the New York City on 24th February at the ceremony to announce Hotstar USA’s coverage of IPL Season 11. The IPL trophy will also be put on display at the event venue.

In past, Hotstar had streamed IPL 2017 live only in India, and the streaming right in the US territory was with Willow TV. However, this time around, Hotstar will be stream both in India as well as the USA. Interestingly, It will be the second occasion for Kumble to unveil a major cricket trophy in the US. In the year 2011, India’s most successful bowler unveiled World T20 Trophy for ESPN. On the other hand, it will be for the first time Harbhajan, who has been bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the base price will tour for the first time to unveil the Trophy and streaming rights.
