Hailing from Rajasthan, Mahipal Lomror initially started his cricket career as a batter before he turned into an all-rounder. He is considered a power hitter who doesn’t shy away from attacking the bowlers and chipping in quick runs for the team. He was selected in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016 wherein he displayed his fiefdom with an all-round performance.
In only his second match, Lomror played a quickfire knock of 45 runs in the lower order to strengthen the position of the side. He armed his talent better by further chiming in with a fifer in the same match against New Zealand. He came into the limelight as he represented his state in Under-16 and Under-19 levels across formats.
Lomror was bought by the then Delhi Daredevils ahead of the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League before he made a move to the Rajasthan Royals. He played only five games across the 2019 and 2020 IPL and the team retained him for the next season. In this year’s IPL, the all-rounder has chipped in 94 runs from four matches at an average of 31.33. CricTracker caught up with Mahipal Lomror for a rapid-fire chit-chat.
