Former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan recently got hitched for the third time. The cricketer-turned-politician announced his third wedding to the media and has now thanked his fans for their good wishes. Soon after the news of Imran’s wedding broke out, the good wishes came in flooding from his fans. Imran Khan married his spiritual adviser Bushra Maneka in the city of Lahore on Sunday (February 18, 2018).
The pictures of his wedding ceremony, Nikaah, were released by his political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Imran Khan was a regular visitor for Bushra, who is also known as Pinki Pir. Reportedly, the former cricketer used to seek guidance from her after he had first met a couple of years ago. The 65-year old politician soon decided to get hitched and is happily married now.
In the pictures that went viral on the social media, Imran is seen wearing a dark blazer and a white salwar-kameez. Bushra, his wife, is seen sitting next to him and is covered in her traditional attire. Only her eyes can be seen in the picture. The popular names of the PTI party attended the wedding ceremony.
The list included the likes of Awn Chaudhary and Zulfi Bukhari. Mufti Muhammed Saeed performed the ‘nikaah’ and Awn Chaudhary and Zulfi Bukhari were the witnesses. The entire wedding ceremony was a very private one and apparently, the former cricketer had insisted it on being a low profile event.
Imran’s party also released an official statement after the completion of the ‘Nikaah’. “Marriage is the combination of two hearts and two souls, which join each other on this special day of the wedding. Wishing (the couple) a very happy and blessed married life,” the statement issued by the PTI read.
Here is what Imran Khan tweeted for his fans:
“I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes on my marriage,” Imran Khan wrote in his tweet.
