The stalled process of recruitment of 14850 teachers in Chhattisgarh has left the candidates agitated. Protests took in Raipur, the capital city of the state, with people demanding to begin the recruitment process which has been in limbo. A strange case has also come to the fore in this episode. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has applied for the post of teacher in the Raipur. If that’s not bizarre enough, the applicant has given his father’s name Sachin Tendulkar.

It’s quite evident that the application is fake as having names matching with two renowned cricket stars in one family with different surnames can’t just be a coincidence. However, the biggest surprise is the so-called Mahendra Singh Dhoni even was shortlisted by the officials for the interview. The matter gathered attention when the applicant did not appear for the interview.

As many as 15 selected applicants were to be interviewed on Friday (June 2). When Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not reach, the officials got suspicious. This followed a call in the number given in the application, which was found unreachable. This made the officials realized their mistake and the application was deemed to be fake.

FIR to be lodged against fake ‘MS Dhoni’

As per the application, Dhoni held an engineering degree from CSVTU University in Durg district. As soon as the episode came to the light, the other candidates posted the list of selected candidates on social media and netizens got a talking point. The authorities are now planning to register an FIR against the fake applicant.

Although the officials have accepted the application being faked, it’s yet to know how this candidate got shortlisted for the interview. More developments will be known after the policemen probe the case after the FIR is lodged.

Speaking of the real MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, who announced his retirement from international cricket last year, was last seen in the now-postponed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, marshaling the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Although the talismanic cricketer couldn’t do much talking with the bat, his on-field decisions and glovework were spot on. Dhoni will take the field again when the gala tournament resumes in UAE in September.
