The second Test between India and Sri Lanka got underway at Nagpur recently. By the end of the first day’s play, one can safely assume that the hosts have a big advantage on the day. The Sri Lankan team were bundled out for a paltry 205 in their first innings to hand over the honors of the day to the Indian bowlers.

The performance of the Indian bowlers has to be hailed considering the fact that the track looked like a batting track at the toss. In fact, it was Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal who had won the toss and had opted to bat first. He had also mentioned at the toss that they would want to make the most out of the batting conditions that they get.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had also conceded at the toss that even he would have opted to bat first, had he won the toss. Well, looking back at things, it was not that bad a toss to lose for Kohli eventually. Speaking about the toss, there was a blunder committed during the live action. When the match officials and captains were ready for the toss, the broadcasters seem to have lost their focus.

Slight blip from the broadcasters

Apparently, when the toss was done and dusted, one of the officials was heard swearing big time on the microphones. This happened because the broadcasters forgot to turn off the mics after the toss was done.

They were quick to realize that the swearing words actually went live to the audiences watching world wide. They did manage to take things under control by switching it off soon. However, by the time they could do it, some damage was already done. Much to their liking, the fans soon moved their focus on the match as the team India dominated the proceedings right from the first hour of play on the day.
