Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is currently on a break from international cricket, but cannot stop himself from playing the game he loves. The swashbuckling opener was recently spotted playing gully cricket with a bunch of  kids in Mumbai. A Twitter user uploaded a video where the 35-year-old was seen batting.

In the nine-second video, the right-handed batter can be seen wearing a smile after hitting the ball straight down the road. The senior batter was also recently seen doing the running drills to prepare himself for the upcoming rescheduled Test match against England. Meanwhile, Rohit seems to be enjoying his break from the hectic cricket schedule.”Rohit Sharma playing gully cricket at Worli, Mumbai, ahead of the England tour,” a Twitter user wrote as the caption while sharing the clip which eventually got viral.

Skipper Rohit, along with former captain Virat Kohli and express pacer Jasprit Bumrah, has been rested from the ongoing five-match T20I series against the visitors South Africa. However, the squad for the England tour has reached London earlier today as they are slated to play the rescheduled Test match followed by the T20I and ODI series against the Three Lions. This will be Rohit Sharma’s first away assignment after being named as Indian captain and he will want to give his 100% with both bat and as a captain.

The Test match is slated to start on July 1 and after that, the focus will be shifted towards the three-match T20I series taking place from July 7 (Thursday) and then the same number of ODIs starting from July 12 (Tuesday). Team India has already announced its squad for the Test series.

Meanwhile, another Indian team will be touring Ireland for a two-match T20I series against the home side. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the Indian team for the tour with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya named captain of the second-string squad. Experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named the vice-captain.
