The game between Gujarat Lions and Mumbai Indians can be easily divided into three halves with the first one being where the Mumbai Indians looked all set for their 7th win before the birthday boy James Faulkner started his destruction in the 2nd part backed well by Basil Thampi to take the game into the Super Over.

In the last minutes of his 27th birthday, Faulkner restricted MI for just 11 runs in the one-over eliminator. The third part was the change of date on the calendar as it was MI skipper Rohit Sharma who was celebrating his birthday and Jasprit Bumrah held his nerves to conceded just 6 runs against the Finch-McCullum pair and handed a lovely birthday present to his captain who believed in the young pacer.
