The Rising Pune Supergiant put up a brilliant show against the Mumbai Indians both with the bat and the ball to script their first win in their very first match of their IPL 10 campaign. Captain Steve Smith played a captain&#8217;s innings and guided his team to a victory with two sixes in the final over of Keiron Pollard.

But there is no room for complacency in the Indian Premier League and they have to be on their toes once again against the Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI has a good batting line-up including the likes of Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and Martin Guptill which might provoke the Pune franchise to strengthen their batting line-up as well.

Steve Smith, was successful on his first encounter as captain of the Rising Pune Super Giant as he himself played a superb knock to guide his team to victory. The 27-year-old Aussie skipper carried his good form in the Indian Premier League too as he remained unbeaten at the score of 84.

The player improved his average in the IPL with his match winning knock in the last match and is well in the hunt for the orange cap. It looks like the Rising Pune Super Giant’s success this season will depend a lot on this man who is determined to lead his team to victory.

Faf Du Plessis might be considered for the second match against the Kings XI Punjab to add strength to the batting line up of the Rising Pune Super Giants. In the first two matches of the Indian Premier League, the scores have been on the higher side which might provoke the selectors to opt for du Plessis.

With 8 half-centuries and an average of 30.64 in the IPL Du Plessis can be a very dependable batsman in the middle order if he comes in the playing XI. He is likely to replace Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa who did not have a very good first match.

The 14.5 crore buy off the Rising Pune Super Giant franchise had a busy first experience of the Indian Premier League as he had the opportunity to both bat and bowl in the first match.

The all-rounder was expensive in his first over but came back pretty well in his second. He went for 36 runs in total and picked up one wicket. Rajat Bhatia has an excellent match against the Mumbai Indians as he picked up two important wickets in his three overs giving away just 14 runs. It was surprising he did not get to bowl his fourth despite bowling beautifully in his first three.

Bhatia with his experience was quite difficult for the Mumbai batsmen to pick. He first caught Ambati Rayudu of his own bowling and soon after Hardik Pandya got out trying to hit the bowler for a six. The ball went high up in the air but Dhoni took a calm and composed catch helping Bhatia to his 2nd wicket.

So, Bhatia would also be surely included in the RPS line up against the Kings XI Punjab as Bhatia will have the task of breaking important partnerships just like he did in the previous match.

Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for the Rising Pune Super Giant in the first match. The Proteas international took 3 wickets giving away only just 28 runs in his four overs.

The leg-spinner first cleaned up Parthiv Patel round the legs with a brilliant googly. Soon after Rohit Sharma, captain of the Mumbai Indians fell victim to another brilliant Tahir delivery that went through his bat and pads.

Last but not the least Tahir picked up an in-form Jos Buttler who was hitting the ball all around the park. Though Tahir got a bit lucky with Buttler’s wicket as the ball hit the bat before hitting the pads, his spell was definitely worth the praise. The leggie will definitely look to carry his rich vein of form even in the 2nd encounter.

Ashoke Dinda was the most expensive bowler against the Mumbai Indians as he went for a huge 57 runs in his 4 overs. He didn&#8217;t provide the team with the early breakthroughs which he was supposed to but is likely to retain his place in the team.

The Bengal bowler would definitely look to improve his performance against the Kings XI Punjab.  His task would not be easy though as Kings XI has a formidable batting line-up with the likes of Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh and Glenn Maxwell in it.

But the bowler has shown his quality previously as he had a decent time with the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Pune Warriors.

Ashoke Dinda was the most expensive bowler against the Mumbai Indians as he went for a huge 57 runs in his 4 overs. He didn’t provide the team with the early breakthroughs which he was supposed to but is likely to retain his place in the team.
The Bengal bowler would definitely look to improve his performance against the Kings XI Punjab.&nbsp; His task would not be easy though as Kings XI has a formidable batting line-up with the likes of Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh and Glenn Maxwell in it.
But the bowler has shown his quality previously as he had a decent time with the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Pune Warriors.
Deepak Chahar

Despite going wicketless in the two matches he was picked in last year Deepak Chahar got the nod in the first match of the Rising Pune Super Giant.
But he only got to bowl 2 overs as he went for 21 runs in the same. He bowled at a high economy rate of 10.50 as he got hit for three boundaries and a six.
But he is likely to feature in the next match as well and would be hoping to improve on his performance picking up some important wickets for his team.

The Rising Pune Supergiant put up a brilliant show against the Mumbai Indians both with the bat and the ball to script their first win in their very first match of their IPL 10 campaign. Captain Steve Smith played a captain&#8217;s innings and guided his team to a victory with two sixes in the final over of Keiron Pollard.
But there is no room for complacency in the Indian Premier League and they have to be on their toes once again against the Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI has a good batting line-up including the likes of Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and Martin Guptill which might provoke the Pune franchise to strengthen their batting line-up as well.
All eyes would be on Imran Tahir who performed extremely well in the first game and the team would expect him to rise to the occasion once again. MS Dhoni would also be hoping to contribute this time as he did not have much to do in the first match. However, the team would be relying on Ajinkya Rahane to give them a solid start up the order and would like some contribution from the out of form Mayank Agarwal as well.

Chasing a target of 185 runs, the opening batsman set the tone of the run chase for the Rising Pune Super Giant against the Mumbai Indians in the opening encounter. Rahane scored an excellent 60 runs of just 30 balls which helped him team gain momentum at the top of the order.
En route to his 60 of a mere 34 deliveries, Rahane smashed 6 boundaries and 3 sixes and announced his arrival to the shortest format of the game. It was during the final Test in Dharamsala where he showed signs of a change in gears and struck two exceptional sixes of Pat Cummins.  the technically sound batsman would be a sure shot pick at the top of the order and his team would be hoping that Rahane repeats the same kind of performance as he did against the Mumbai Indians.

Unlike Ajinkya Rahane who helped his team during the run chase, Mayank Agarwal failed to put an impression both on the run chase and the selectors. Agarwal was dismissed for only 6 runs leaving his team in a spot of bother.
But there is a staunch feeling that the selectors of the Rising Pune Super Giant would like to give Agarwal a second chance before replacing him.
But it is high time that Agarwal needs to stand up to the occasion and perform for his team.His has the abilities to hit the big shots but he somehow needs to find a way to become more consistent.

Steve Smith, was successful on his first encounter as captain of the Rising Pune Super Giant as he himself played a superb knock to guide his team to victory. The 27-year-old Aussie skipper carried his good form in the Indian Premier League too as he remained unbeaten at the score of 84.
The player improved his average in the IPL with his match winning knock in the last match and is well in the hunt for the orange cap. It looks like the Rising Pune Super Giant’s success this season will depend a lot on this man who is determined to lead his team to victory.
Smith did pretty well as a captain too as he rotated his bowlers well to restrict the Mumbai Indians to a score of 184.
Faf du Plessis

Faf Du Plessis might be considered for the second match against the Kings XI Punjab to add strength to the batting line up of the Rising Pune Super Giants. In the first two matches of the Indian Premier League, the scores have been on the higher side which might provoke the selectors to opt for du Plessis.
With 8 half-centuries and an average of 30.64 in the IPL Du Plessis can be a very dependable batsman in the middle order if he comes in the playing XI. He is likely to replace Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa who did not have a very good first match.
But Du Plessis&#8217;s inclusion depends a lot upon how the Indore pitch turns out to be as they might also opt for the extra spinner if it is a bowling pitch.
Manoj Tiwary

The Bengal player can be a handy batsman in the middle order and that is exactly the reason why he was picked in the squad for the first game against the Mumbai Indians.
Manoj did not have a lot to do in the first game as Steve Smith single-handedly saw off the opponents and Tiwary did not get a chance bat. But things could be quite different in the next match and the team would expect the batsman to show his calibre when he gets his opportunity.
Tiwary has so far played 79 matches in the Indian Premier League in which he has only managed 1324 runs. He has also reached the 50 run mark 5 times which is quite low, to be honest. But the batsman could prove to be an important one in tough situations as he has the potential to excel in this format.

The 14.5 crore buy off the Rising Pune Super Giant franchise had a busy first experience of the Indian Premier League as he had the opportunity to both bat and bowl in the first match.

The all-rounder was expensive in his first over but came back pretty well in his second. He went for 36 runs in total and picked up one wicket. But the negative point in his bowling was that he went for 4 sixes in his four overs which were the highest along with Ashoke Dinda as far as the RPS bowling is concerned.
He also had a part to play with the bat as he scored 21 runs of 14 deliveries hitting 3 fours. His strike rate during the short cameo was 150 and will surely feature against the Kings XI Punjab.
MS Dhoni

The former Indian captain was at the non-striker’s end when Steve Smith scored the winning runs for the Rising Pune Super Giant with a six. Dhoni did not have much to do with his bat but did well to not to give his wicket away at a crucial point of the game.
But the 35-year-old was responsible enough behind the stumps and would definitely like to play a big part in the next match against the Kings XI Punjab. Considering the fact that the Kings XI have some big scorers with the bat in their lineup we can expect that the Rising Pune Supergiant might have to chase down a big total. On such circumstances, the World Cup winning captain will have to prove his worth which he has been doing throughout his glorious career.
Being one of the best finishers of the game there is no doubt over the fact that Dhoni would be playing all the games for the Rising Pune Super Giant franchise.

Rajat Bhatia has an excellent match against the Mumbai Indians as he picked up two important wickets in his three overs giving away just 14 runs. It was surprising he did not get to bowl his fourth despite bowling beautifully in his first three.
Bhatia with his experience was quite difficult for the Mumbai batsmen to pick. He first caught Ambati Rayudu of his own bowling and soon after Hardik Pandya got out trying to hit the bowler for a six. The ball went high up in the air but Dhoni took a calm and composed catch helping Bhatia to his 2nd wicket.
So, Bhatia would also be surely included in the RPS line up against the Kings XI Punjab as Bhatia will have the task of breaking important partnerships just like he did in the previous match.
Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for the Rising Pune Super Giant in the first match. The Proteas international took 3 wickets giving away only just 28 runs in his four overs.
The leg-spinner first cleaned up Parthiv Patel round the legs with a brilliant googly. Soon after Rohit Sharma, captain of the Mumbai Indians fell victim to another brilliant Tahir delivery that went through his bat and pads.
Last but not the least Tahir picked up an in-form Jos Buttler who was hitting the ball all around the park.
