Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have copped a lot of blows at the early stages of the tournament with injuries and all their home matches were also shifted to Pune. But the team stayed together as a unit during the tough times and performed to their potential. The result is currently they are sitting pretty at the top of the table with 5 victories after six matches. However, they have received a huge boost ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians as South African quick Lungi Ngidi has joined the squad.
Ngidi had to leave the team only after the first couple of matches of CSK after his father passed away. Unfortunately, he had to face more embarrassment on his way back to home. He was subjected to strip search at the airport and his troubles were doubled with it.
Ngidi gives the update
Lungi Ngidi himself informed about the update to his fans and followers as he posted the story on his official Instagram account. He posted the pictures of him leaving the South Africa and then also updated about reaching to Dubai and must have joined the team by now. It remains to be seen if he will be included in the playing XI in the upcoming matches with the team doing so well.
CSK has so far struggled with the Indian pacers like Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar by conceding around 200 runs in most of the games. It is possible that the skipper MS Dhoni might include Ngidi at some stage going forward in the tournament to take a look at his credentials as the death bowler. The youngster also will be in better frame of mind now after spending some time with his family.
