Hard hitting Karnataka batsman, Mayank Agarwal, found a new franchise in the 2018 edition of the popular T20 league. Mayank arrived in to the competition after a very successful domestic season. In the Ranji Trophy this season, he was the best performer for his side.

He had translated his good run of form in the limited overs cricket in the domestic circuit as well. But, in the Kings outfit, he failed to get his act going. It was disappointing to see him score just 120 runs in the 11 matches that he played. He averaged only 12 with the bat.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians failed to make it to the playoffs this season. One of the key reasons for their failure was the lackluster form of their captain, Rohit Sharma. For the first time in the history of the IPL, Rohit failed to cross the 300-run aggregate mark in a season. In the 14 matches that he played, he amassed just 286 runs at an average of just over 23.

Barring a couple of fifties, nothing went his way. He scored three ducks in the season, an unwanted feat matched only by Ishan Kishan in the season. Also, he failed to decide a proper place for himself in the playing eleven. He shuffled his batting position and that never helped the cause of the team.
