Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are arguably the most decorated and most successful teams in the history of the IPL. They have won three IPL titles and all of them have come under the leadership of MS Dhoni. The former Indian skipper has hardly missed any games for CSK. However, he might just miss a few this time around.

Dhoni has had a few back issues in the past. He was also struggling in one of the games in the Australia series recently. Hence, with the World Cup knocking on the door, the Ranchi-born wicket-keeper might take a few games off. Thus, Suresh Raina might ascend to the captain’s position. The Uttar Pradesh left-hander has been one of the most successful batsmen in IPL history.

In fact, he is the leading run-getter in the IPL. He has led CSK when Dhoni was out injured back in 2010. Raina was also the skipper of Gujarat Lions for a couple of years when CSK was suspended. Hence, with Dhoni looking to manage his workload ahead of the World Cup, Raina may find himself as the skipper for the CSK franchise at some point in this season.
