3. Include an extra bowling option for back-up

Bowling is an area that CSK have had troubles with in the past as well. They bowed down against Sanju Samson’s whirlwind knock, where they conceded 216 runs in the first innings.

Dhoni, in the post-match interview as well, singled out that the bowlers were not up to the mark. At the time of Sanju Samson smoking the CSK bowlers, it was evident that they were lacking an extra bowling option, but since they didn’t have it they were reshuffling their five main bowlers to unsettle the RR batsmen.

The death bowling also seemed weak with their bowlers leaking 39 runs in the last 2 overs. it became a major reason for their batsmen to fall short of the massive target.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the CSK management decides to include an extra bowling option in the form of leg spin all-rounder Karn Sharma or fast bowler Shardul Thakur against DC as per the conditions on offer at the Dubai International Cricket stadium.
