Cladding the captain’s hat for Vidarbha, the cricketing prodigy stepped on to the field for 95 matches for CSK. The batting mojo loved to grab opportunities to justify his position in the best cricketing team. He is one of the only players who could bat at any order and help the team pose threat to the opposition.

The Tamil-Nadu batsman deposited 1441 runs in his cricketing account in 71 matches with a gritty strike rate of  118.89. Sharing the dressing room with the captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave him an impetus to break into the national team. Eventually, he was named in the squad against South Africa when the later toured India.

The maestro did not receive the recognition which his willow deserved in his cricketing career. However, the eternal fans of the team will remember the dynamic batsman who rose to all their expectations.
