A strange similarity among all the players who were released by teams saw a lot of top-order batsmen find their way back to the auction table. Evin Lewis is one of them, who was released by the Mumbai Indians. The swashbuckling West Indian opener has a style very much reminiscent of the great Chris Gayle but is a long distance away from reaching his level of brilliance.

Evin Lewis is a major presence in most T20 tournaments across the globe. Although he has been a tad inconsistent, Lewis still has a great market value. It did surprise some fans when Mumbai Indians released the player as there is no way they can retain him for a price lesser than what they were paying earlier.

Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will be keenly looking at batsmen who can be as explosive as him. Going by his recent form, he could get into any side as a backup opener as well and is a strong contender to end up with the Orange Army.
