Rajasthan Royals (RR), somehow, managed to halt their four-match losing streak in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Steve Smith and Co would be relieved that they managed to beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

After losing the toss, they put in the Orange Army, who churned out a significant 158 for four in 20 overs. During their run-chase, the Royals lost their big guns early and looked in all sorts of trouble. However, a flurry of boundaries in the last five overs took RR over the finishing line with one ball to spare.

The Royals and the Sunrisers are currently level on six points from seven games each. David Warner’s SRH would be disappointed that despite getting a grip on the game, they let their opponent make a comeback.

Here are the RR Player Ratings for the SRH vs RR match: –

Ben Stokes- 3/10

Ben Stokes bowled only a solitary over where he gave seven runs. To the surprise of many, he opened the batting and hit a four, but Khaleel Ahmed rattled his woodwork to cut short his stay.

Jos Buttler- 4/10

Jos Buttler looked good and smashed a four and a six to get going. Just when he was looking good, Khaleel nipped him out. Buttler found an inside edge and perished after scoring 16 runs off 13 balls.

Steve Smith- 3/10

Steve Smith has entered into a slump and couldn’t cross the single-digit score yet another time in the IPL. The right-hander was caught short at the non-striker’s end after he scored five off six balls.

Sanju Samson- 6/10

Sanju Samson, after a few failures, put his head down and looked set for a big knock. But Rashid Khan found his outside to end his stay. The right-hander scored 26 runs off 25 balls with three fours.

Robin Uthappa- 5.5/10

Robin Uthappa made his return into the eleven and he was starting to find his rhythm. To his sheer dismay, Rashid Khan trapped him plumb in front and he got out after scoring 18 runs off 15 balls.

Riyan Parag- 9.5/10

Riyan Parag also made his way back into the lineup and he had a massive task at hand. He started slowly, but picked up the pace to end on an unbeaten 42 off 26 with two fours and as many sixes.

Rahul Tewatia- 9.5/10

Rahul Tewatia again showed his class and calibre with the bat in hand. His masterful 28-ball 45 with four fours and two sixes took RR to the triumph. With his leg-breaks, he couldn’t pick up a wicket.

Jofra Archer- 9/10

Jofra Archer was hard to get away in his four-over spell. Out of 24 balls, he bowled as many as 14 dots and gave runs at an economy rate of 6.25. He also picked up the crucial wicket of David Warner.

Shreyas Gopal- 7/10

Shreyas Gopal bowled in the powerplay, but he passed the test with flying colours. The leg-spinner didn’t allow the SRH batters to get away with easy runs. In four overs, he gave away 31 runs at 7.75.

Jaydev Unadkat- 7.5/10

Jaydev Unadkat had a reasonable day with the ball in hand. In the four overs he bowled, he gave away 31 runs at an economy of 7.75. The left-arm seamer also picked up Manish Pandey’s wicket.

Kartik Tyagi- 7/10

Kartik Tyagi turned out to be the most expensive bowler for the Royals on the day. In his three overs, the speedster leaked 29 runs at 9.66. However, he managed to dismiss the dangerous Jonny Bairstow.
