IPL 2020: Shane Watson reveals his favourite moment with CSK

The classic all-rounder Shane Watson already has a huge name in the cricketing world before starting his amazing stint with Chennai Super Kings in the year 2018. The Yellow Army was struggling with a bad phase after they were banned for two years on the account of the spot-fixing scandal. They wanted to have a robust line up once they stage their comeback in the cash-rich league and then came Watson, who stunned the franchise with his maiden journey alongside CSK.

In the year 2018, he scored a total of 555 runs including two centuries and two half-centuries. His century in the final stole the show, and CSK lifted the trophy for the third time in the history of IPL. However, the Australian didn’t have a great run in the next season but was the part of regular playing XI from the team’s side.

Ahead of the upcoming IPL season, the 39-year-old is completely impressed by the CSK setup. He posted a video message through Super Kings’ official Twitter handle stating, “I have been very fortunate to play for CSK for the past few years. I really enjoyed my time at the Rajasthan Royals. It was an incredible experience to play under Shane Warne and play in Jaipur, it is a beautiful cricket ground, and the wicket is amazing.”

“But CSK is just an amazing franchise. It is run incredibly well, has leadership all the way down. MS Dhoni, Stephen Fleming, just the way they set up the whole franchise is phenomenal. You come in, you are embraced, you are trusted, and so I feel very fortunate to have played for CSK,” added the swashbuckling cricketer.

Speaking further, the ace right-hander went on to share his favourite moment from the tournament so far and told Dhoni has always been instrumental in boosting the team’s morale whatsoever be the situation.

“My favourite moment with CSK was the game against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai in IPL 2018. DJ Bravo batted like a genius. He got us out of trouble and won us after the game. I remember after the game MS Dhoni and Michael Hussey said that this is what we do at CSK.”
