IPL 2021: CricTracker's expert panelist Lalchand Rajput reveals his playoff contenders

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is up and running, and the tournament is heading towards the completion of its first week. While all the teams have played at least a game each, the speculations and guess-work of the fans to experts about the winner of the tournament and the teams that will secure a playoff berth have already started.
As came a new edition of the IPL, CricTracker’s renowned live analysis show ‘In the Air’ got back as well. A one-stop show for cricket fans across the world, the show is telecasted live on the website’s official YouTube and Instagram channels. For the 14th edition, the show has welcomed esteemed panelists in former India cricketer VRV Singh, IPL champion Manvinder Bisla and team India’s manager in 2007 T20 World Cup Lalchand Rajput, who all have been bringing and will continue to bring detailed pre and post-match analysis for all the cricket fans.
Notably, Lalchand Rajput has served as the joint honorary secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association and also took up coaching, which included successful stints with the Under-19 team. He was appointed cricket manager before India’s successful campaign at the ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa and held the position till the tour of Australia in 2007-08. He played a pivotal role in India’s triumph and continued as the manager till the Australian tour in 2007-08.
He also has been the former coach of IPL’s most successful franchise Mumbai Indians. After having coached Mumbai Indians and serving as the director of India’s National Cricket Academy, Rajput coached Afghanistan. During his tenure, Afghanistan defeated West Indies in a one-day international at Gros Islet and was promoted to Full Membership of the International Cricket Council. He is currently working as Zimbabwe’s head coach.
Lalchand Rajput picks his IPL 2021 Playoff contenders
Having joined CT’s expert panel, Lalchand Rajput was asked to pick his top four teams for the ongoing edition of the IPL. Picking his first team, he stated that it will be Mumbai Indians, who will be looking for a hat-trick of titles, followed by Delhi Capitals, the last year’s finalists.
As his third pick, Rajput chose Punjab Kings, as Rajput believes that they have the ammunition to finish in the top four, while his last pick was the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
