Ravindra Jadeja played the 2008 U19 World Cup with the now 32-year-old Virat Kohli as the skipper of the Indian team. Though the southpaw hasn’t garnered laurels equal to his captain, he has made impacts big enough to win his teams matches.

The Saurashtra all-rounder is also known for his sword celebration, which he churns out in games, both at the international and domestic level. After accomplishing milestones with the bat in hand, he brings out the stylish celebration.

Recently, MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper, was seen imitating the celebration. It was during the Chennai Super Kings’ campaign in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni performed it with a smile on his face even as Robin Uthappa looked along.

Here’s the video

The Super Kings had an impressive campaign when the tournament had to be suspended for an indefinite period of time. After failing to make the playoffs in 2020, Dhoni and Co were placed in the top half of the points table.

Barring their loss to the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, CSK looked clinical, to say the least. Jadeja played a crucial role in the game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, he performed with both bat and ball.

In the final over of CSK’s innings, Jadeja laid into Harshal Patel, the current Purple Cap holder of the tournament. The onslaught helped the Super Kings gain control.

Uthappa praises Ravindra Jadeja

In the meantime, Jadeja garnered praises from Robin Uthappa, who lauded him for his athleticism and growth in his career in the last couple of years.

“It’s always a delight to watch Jaddu on the field with his amazing athleticism and how he’s taken his game up a few notches the last 2 years. A great human being both on and off the field. Thank you for the Instagram tips @ravindra. jadeja, we’ll catch up soon and maybe you can show me how you maintain your pointy beard?” Uthappa posted.

Later, Jadeja didn’t miss out on expressing his gratitude to Uthappa for the kind words. “Hahahaahah thanks a lot Robbie bhai for kind words. Btw like your hashtags see you soon,” Jadeja wrote.
