The second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume on 19th September 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). And, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) squads have left for the UAE for the 14th IPL season.

The players of the Mumbai Indians (MI) side have been provided with GPS watches and they will wear them for six days during their quarantine periods. The health department of Abu Dhabi has provided the players with these watches.

The players also got their Covid-19 tests done at the airport. A source further added that even in 2020, the quarantine rules were stricter in Abu Dhabi, and Covid-19 negative reports were needed to enter Abu Dhabi from the city of Dubai.

“The Mumbai Indians unit has been given GPS watches which the members will have to wear for the six days of their quarantine period. It has been given by the health department after they landed in Abu Dhabi and got their COVID-19 test done in the airport. Even last year, the strictness when it came to quarantine rules was more in Abu Dhabi and you needed COVID-19 negative reports to enter Abu Dhabi from Dubai,” stated a source as quoted by MyKhel.

CSK players not provided with GPS watches

On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players, who are currently in Dubai, were not provided with any GPS watches by the authorities in Dubai. The CSK players will undergo Covid-19 testing on each and every day of their quarantine period.

“The Chennai Super Kings team which is staying in Dubai hasn’t been provided any GPS watches by the Dubai authorities. They are undergoing COVID-19 testing on all days during the quarantine period,” stated the source.

The 14th edition of the IPL will once again be restarted on 19th September 2021, and rivals Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will clash against each other in a mouth-watering duel. As of now, the top place in the points table is occupied by the Delhi Capitals (DC) outfit.
