Sreesanth registered for the IPL 2021 auction and 2022 mega auction as well, however, he went unsold at the base price of 50 Lakh. The right-arm seamer faced a life ban from professional cricket in 2013 for allegedly being involved in a spot-fixing scandal during his stint with the Rajasthan Royals in the sixth edition of IPL.

The fixing allegations were not proved and his ban was reduced to seven years after an appeal and he came back to professional cricket in 2020. Since then, he has played for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Recently, he made a comeback into the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season and picked up his first FC wicket in nine years.

Sreesanth is very keen to make it big again and is working really hard on his fitness as well. The 39-year-old has immense potential when it comes to hitting the tough lengths and has got a deadly outswinger as well. It is difficult to stop him when he is on a song, and he has picked up 40 wickets in 44 IPL games at an average of 29.9. Franchises will definitely consider getting him as a replacement due to his wicket-taking abilities.
