IPL 2022, Match 22 CSK vs RCB, Stats Preview: Players records and approaching milestones

Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be facing each other in the 22nd match of IPL 2022, to be played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. While CSK were the champions in the previous IPL season, RCB reached the Eliminator. However, the tale of these two teams are quite different this season, with RCB winning three and losing one, and CSK having lost all their four matches. CSK have played one match at DY Patil Stadium this season, losing to SRH. RCB on the other hand played two matches at this ground this season – losing to PBKS but winning against KKR.

Faf du Plessis wasn’t looking good after the team’s opening match this season, but his opening partner Anuj Rawat finally found some form with a half-century in the last match against Mumbai Indians. Virat Kohli at No.3 also regained his form by scoring 48(36) in the last match, while Dinesh Karthik has been their finisher, playing brilliant cameos in all four matches. Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga bowled good spells this season, while the otgher bowlers seek to be more consistent.

The main problem for CSK this season is that both their opening batters Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad haven’t been consistent. Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube tried to rebuild the team after the top-order failure. The experienced players in Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni weren’t consistent with the bat. The bowlers had a disappointing season so far, and have a lot to work on.
