The third match of the IPL 2022 is all set to get underway between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams with their new skipper in the form of Mayank Agarwal and Faf Du Plessis would be searching for their maiden titles. Both the franchises have had the ‘so near yet so far’ moments while chasing the IPL title in past and it remains to be seen if they get hands on silverware this time around.

Both the sides would be flagging their starts with an almost new set-up in terms of players. PBKS looks like a heavy batting side under the leadership of Agarwal with the likes of star senior batter Shikhar Dhawan and Liam Livingstone wherein Jonny Bairstow would also be stepping after a while. Agarwal, who was shining well with his former skipper KL Rahul for PBKS in the last few years, is expected to lead from the front.

Talking of RCB, they have a star Protean leader in the form of Du Plessis, who was just behind Ruturaj Gaikwad in terms of bagging the Orange Cap in IPL 2021. Former skipper Virat Kohli would be playing this season in the capacity of only a regular player wherein his batting class would be awaited by each and everyone to unfold.
