Irfan Pathan to leave Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa midway: Cricketer Irfan Pathan has decided to say said goodbye to celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded. He will quit the show midway in order to prepare himself for the preponed domestic Indian cricket season. Pathan, who made a wild card entry in the show is all set to walk out of it much to the disappointment of his fans. The Indian domestic season which usually commences in November has been pulled back to an October first week start this year.

“The domestic cricket schedule, which usually starts in the second week of November, has been preponed and is starting on October 1,” Pathan said.

“I will have to leave to start training for it. If I perform well on the ground, I will dance a little to celebrate,” he joked. Pathan said that he thoroughly enjoyed his stint with the dance reality show and thanked everyone for their support in his experience away from the field, but clarified that his priority was cricket and that he had to practice for the upcoming season.

“I did not know how this industry worked and when I entered, I realised how big it is. I will miss everybody a lot,” the left arm pacer said. The bowling all-rounder from Baroda had also said that his earnings in Jhalak will be used for his cricket academy, which he and his brother run (joint foundation) – Cricket Academy of Pathans.

Irfan surprised the judges and audience by his dance performances on the show. Pathan was once considered a promising India all-rounder but his performances in international cricket soon lost its sheen and he is now seeking to make a comeback to the international fold through strong performances in the domestic circuit.
