A day after naming what he believed was the Best ODI XI of the year, Harsha Bhogle has gone ahead and named his best T20I XI of the year. The year 2016 has seen a plethora of T20 internationals played with the World T20 also being one of the major tournaments as well.

Bhogle began by stating that picking a T20 side was perhaps the most difficult thing to do given the fact that consistency is something that most does not value apart from the big-hitting and the instant impact one makes while playing T20 cricket.

Quinton de Kock and David Warner are chosen as the opening batsmen given their tremendous batting acumen in recent times. While Warner picks himself, Bhogle went on to add that the Australian southpaw was perhaps a brilliant skipper during his time and also has been named as skipper of this side.

Glenn Maxwell has not been consistent in recent times and has been dropped, little to the selection ploy of the former Indian commentator. AB de Villiers finds himself as the wicketkeeper-batsman given his amazing batting acumen.

Jasprit Bumrah’s impressive spell as India’s bowler in the limited overs format has seen him become one of those who is an automatic selection on the side. Mustafizur Rahman’s 5/14 for Bangladesh in what was a losing cause against New Zealand also sees him picked with Ravichandran Ashwin and Adam Zampa providing the spin options.

West Indies duo Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo form the most integral part of balancing the side following their exploits in helping the Windies clinch the World T20.

Harsha Bhogle’s T20I XI of the year: David Warner (C), Quinton de Kock, Vira Kohli, AB de Villiers (WK), Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman, Adam Zampa
