Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Mandeep Singh has been woefully out of form in IPL 10 and has only managed to score a paltry 72 runs in 8 matches so far. He has been tried at many positions but without any success. Apart from a 28 against the Kings XI Punjab, Mandeep hasn’t timed the ball to perfection which has been the case with so many RCB batsmen.

Taking to his twitter handle, Mandeep said that the criticism thrown at him after a string of poor performances only motivates him to perform better and he will be looking to turn his fortunes tomorrow in the clash against the Rising Pune Supergiant.

“When you criticise me, it motivates me to perform better. I’m working hard to try to make a breakthrough from this and give my best,” Mandeep wrote. To go with Mandeep’s horrendous form, his franchise has also played some shoddy cricket and was bowled out for the lowest ever score in IPL against KKR pretty recently.

Despite the return of star players like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the fortunes of RCB hasn’t changed and they have kept on losing matches after matches. A defeat tomorrow will throw out of the tournament and it will be yet another year of disappointment for arguably the best batting side in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Mandeep has played some crucial innings for RCB in the last few years but hasn’t been consistent enough. In all, he has appeared in 67 IPL matches and has amassed 997 runs at an unimpressive average of 19. It will be interesting to see whether he gets a chance tomorrow given his lacklustre form in the tournament so far.

Vishnu Vinod is in the wings and after a string of low scores, Kohli might be tempted to replace him. Even in yesterday’s match, he was not only responsible for his own dismissal but also ran out the most important player in the team, AB de Villiers which led to RCB’s downfall.
