Renowned sports broadcaster and cricket presenter Mayanti Langer was blessed with a baby boy last year. Ever since then, the doting mother has been seen posting quite a few posts with her adorable son on various social media platforms.

In one such post, Langer recently posted a picture, holding her son in arms, along with a caption “9 months already”. One of the first reactors on the post was Australian pacer Brett Lee, who commented “Cute” with the folded hands emoji next to it.

Langer has been inactive in the television circuit and has been enjoying motherhood since last March, which was her last international broadcast assignment before she went on maternity leave. Back then, India was set to host South Africa for a three-match ODI series.

After the Dharamsala ODI was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain, the series was scrapped as the coronavirus cases began to rise in the country and the government eventually enforced a nationwide lockdown.

IPL postponed indefinitely

Meanwhile, veteran pacer Brett Lee was recently in India as a part of the commentary panel of the Star Sports for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. However, with Covid-19 cases breaking out inside the bio-secure environment created for the league, the tournament was declared indefinitely postponed by the BCCI and IPL Governing Council in a unanimous decision taken to ensure the well-being, health, and security of all the stakeholders involved.

Notably, the Australian government has shut its borders on India until 15th May, owing to a significant increase in the new infections and covid-deaths in the nation. The same pushed BCCI into a logistical deadlock, with Australian players stranded in India.

However, Lee, alongside multiple other Australian cricketers, coaches, commentators, and match officials flew to the Maldives where they will complete a 14-day quarantine before heading back to their nation.

Meanwhile, BCCI has been mulling over new windows to complete the curtailed edition of the IPL, which was completed until match 29 before the first case emerged in the KKR camp. Subsequent cases across different camps in different cities and bubbles meant that the inevitable suspension call had to be made with immediate effect.
