Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who recently became the oldest centurion in Test cricket has helped raise funds for the treatment of one of his fans.

As per reports from the Express Tribune, His little fan Rohaan is a 16-year-old boy who requires undergoing a surgery to cure a hole in his heart. The star batsman has decided to bear half the expenses for his fan’s medical treatment and has also reportedly put his bat and shirt on auction to raise the remaining money.

The 42-year-old middle order batsman first heard about his young fan through his mentor Tahir Shah, who stays in the locality as Rohaan. The veteran Pakistani batsman met Rohaan during the 2015 World Cup but was unable to meet his fan as he was bound to leave for Australia for a 3 match Test series which is scheduled to begin at the Gabba on December 15.

Misbah recently revealed that he was not sure about his retirement plans and could retire anytime as he is not concerned about a farewell match. The Test captain bailed Pakistan out from a hole after the 2010 spot-fixing debacle including the likes of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.

“I do believe these boys have the capability to take responsibility and can deliver. So I am actually thinking if it’s a good to leave at this stage. But this is a decision I want to take on my own and I don’t think I need to pre-announce it. I don’t think that it is necessary for me to mark any series my last but I can take it anytime without even having a farewell. I don’t have to make my retirement plan a big issue by beating drums all over,” the captain stated.

As per reports PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan requested Misbah to continue playing beyond the Australia series though Misbah clarified it was solely his own decision and it had nothing to do with his request. PCB wants Misbah to lead Pakistan until they find another vice-captain.
