The Pakistan cricket team has shown terrific form against the West Indies by winning the four-match T20 series 3-1. As a result the men in green have climbed up two spots to the 4th place in the ICC T20 Rankings, the governing body announced on Monday, April 3rd.

Before the series got underway, Pakistan were sitting at the sixth spot with 113 points while West Indies started the same at the fourth position with 116 points. After convincingly defeating the West indies Pakistan have swapped places with the Caribbean and they now find themselves at the fourth spot with 116 points.

Meanwhile, West Indies have 112 points in their bag and are now behind England who are fifth in the rankings. New Zealand continues to dominate the chart while India holds the second spot with 124 points. The South African team is at the third place in the rankings.

Pakistan comfortably won the first two T20’s but West Indies bounced back in style in the third one. West Indian opener, Evin Lewis’s 91 in the third match was the deciding factor as the Caribbean clinched a seven wicket win. The last match was important for both the sides but it was Pakistan who came out victorious at the end.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl in the final match at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. Evin Lewis failed to make an impact this time as he got out early in the innings. Chadwick Walton top-scored for the West Indies with a score of 40 helping the team reach a total of 124 in their 20 overs.

It was an easy one to chase and Ahmed Shahzad’s return to form comfortably saw Pakistan home. Shahzad smashed a brilliant 53 of just 45 balls hitting 6 boundaries and a biggie. The teams will now play three tests and three one-day internationals.
