New Zealand toured Pakistan last year before abandoning the entire minutes before the first ODI citing security reasons. Following that, even England also decided not to tour Pakistan which attracted heavy criticism from the cricketing fraternity. However, both teams will now be making up and touring the country later this year

England and New Zealand are set to return to Pakistan for two different tous each as per the latest schedule that has been announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The fixtures of the Pakistan cricket team for next year have been officially revealed.

England will play 7 T20Is and 3 Tests in Pakistan in two different visits

As per this schedule, Pakistan’s ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 cycle will see them compete against England and New Zealand at home. The current ODI world champions will be visiting Pakistan first in September-October this year to play seven T20Is as a dress rehearsal for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The Three Lions will then be back in November-December for three Test matches.

The BlackCaps, on the other hand, will be touring Pakistan in December-January for two Tests and three One Day Internationals. The reigning World Test Champions will then return in April-May next year for five ODIs and as many T20Is.

Australia had recently visited Pakistan for an all-format bilateral series for the first time after the 1998/99 season which turned out to be a grand success. The visitors won the Test series 1-0 after the first two matches ended in a stalemate. The Men In Green staged a remarkable comeback to clinch the three-match ODI series 2-1 after losing the series-opener. Nonetheless, it was the T20 World Cup holders who had the last laugh in the one-off T20I which was also the final leg of the one-month-long series.

Pakistan would now be hoping to make the most of their home series to get back in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship race.
