In an attempt bring back cricket to Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed two foreign security personnel as a consultant prior to the proposed World XI tour to be held in the nation in September. PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan confirmed the news saying that Reg Dickanson and ICC Security consultant Bob Nichols will help them with the security for the coming international matches in the nation.

After successfully holding the final of PSL, the bigwigs of Cricket has agreed on sending a World XI to Pakistan for competing in a 3 match T20 series later in the year. The decision came after receiving reports from the security officials of various boards and ICC which was prepared during their visit to Lahore during for the PSL final.

“Initially both of them will work with us and help us prepare for the World XI tour this year. We have also hired them as our consultants because they also offer advice to the ICC and its member boards and the International Federation of Cricketers (FICA) on security issues,” Shaharyar Khan was quoted as saying by Times of India.

“We are hoping that these two experts after seeing the situation in Pakistan can also help convey our point of view to FICA which has in the past discouraged international players from coming to Pakistan,” Khan added.

He conceded that it was the during the recent ICC Board Meeting that it was agreed that head of Special Task Force on Pakistan cricket- Giles Clarke will arrange a T20 series to Pakistan in September where a top-notch World XI team will be competing in a 3 match T20 series. “Dickason and Nichols will also visit Lahore to oversee what security arrangements have to be made for the three matches,” he said.

“We have been assured the World Eleven will have the representation of current players from different countries,” he concluded.
