Among the 7 continents, Asia is the largest in the world. Many Asian countries have been a part of world cricket, the 5 major ones being India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the latest one being Afghanistan. Through the years, the continent has been a powerhouse of great cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Wasim Akram, and many others.

Many Asian teams have dominated world cricket in the previous years and have even won the world cups several times. India has won it twice while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have one World Cup each. Every alternate year, the Asia Cup is also played in one of these countries to attain the Asian supremacy of cricket. Currently, the Asia Cup is held by India which they won in the UAE in 2018. India is currently the strongest of all Asian teams, however, there are some fabulous players in other teams too. Let’s see

The Pakistan ace wicketkeeper batter has been one of those players who burst onto the international circuit after having a truckload of experience at the domestic level. Even though he was rated highly by cricket experts back in his country, surprisingly, it was not after the 2015 edition of the World Cup that the talented keeper-batter got the chance to play for Pakistan. But as Sarfaraz Ahmed was elevated to become the skipper in the limited overs format, the next time Rizwan got the chance to feature for the Men in Green came in a rather unusual manner. During Pakistan’s tour to South Africa, the then-skipper got banned for five games which meant that Mohammad Rizwan got the chance to replace him. And as they say, the rest is history.

Now speaking of his performance in the current year, it will be safe to say that among all Asians who are currently playing for their countries, Mohammad Rizwan is the best wicketkeeper-batter as he showed impeccable consistency along with smart glovework behind the stumps. Speaking of the year 2023, Rizwan has been in sublime touch with the bat. The crafty right-hander has scored 505 runs from 13 matches with a stellar average of 63.12 and an impressive strike rate of 105.64.

His best knock (98*) came in the fifth T20I game against New Zealand at home in April. In all, he smacked five fifties for Pakistan in the current year so far. While speaking of his efficient glovework behind the stumps, the talented keeper has inflicted 13 dismissals from as many matches to his name, which includes 12 catches and two stumpings, respectively.
