Team India head coach Ravi Shastri took some time off from his busy schedule to visit the temples in Kerala. The former Indian cricketer was seen visiting the popular Padmanabhaswamy Temple in the city of Trivandrum. The Indian team and the visiting New Zealand team have arrived in the city for the final game of the tour. Greenfield Stadium is all set to be the 50th international venue in India when it hosts India and New Zealand for the 3rd T20I on November 7.

The series is very well poised at 1-1 and the match at Trivandrum is set to be the decider for the series. Amidst this backdrop, the anticipation and the excitement for the match is on the rise. Ahead of the game, team India head coach Ravi Shastri found some time to seek blessings of the almighty. At the Padmanabhaswamy temple, Ravi Shastri offered a coconut to the deity ‘Agrashala Ganapathy’.

The deity is believed to ward off the hurdles. Shastri was accompanied by some other BCCI officials at the temple as well. He also offered butter to Lord Hanuman at the temple. Offering butter to the Hanuman deity is believed to give good health to the family. This is not the first time that Shastri visited the temple.

He had earlier visited the temple as a four-year-old kid. He mentioned that he would love to bring his mother along to the temple whenever he visits the city again. Meanwhile, the match at Trivandrum is under dark clouds. On the eve of the game, the city saw heavy rains coming down.

Kohli supports anti-drug campaign

While Ravi Shastri was visiting temples, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen attending an event in the city along with the Chief Minister of the state of Kerala. He was promoting the anti-drug campaign in the state. In other news, the match at Trivandrum is set to be historic in the sense that it will be an eco-friendly match. The authorities have planned to make it an event which is waste-free. The state association has tied up with an NGO in order to accomplish the agenda.
