Teenager wicketkeeper-batsman from Delhi Rishabh Pant who is in red hot form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17 has signed a “three-year multi-crore deal” with cricket equipment manufacturers Sanspareils Greenland (SG). Rishabh has been at the peak of his game in this season and has amassed 903 runs in 7 matches with an average of 90.30 and is the second highest run-scorer in the season with 21 runs separating him from the top spot holder PK Panchal.

He has thus far scored a triple century and three hundreds along with a couple of half centuries. He became the third youngest Indian to score a triple ton in first-class cricket. Pant also created a record for the fastest hundred in Ranji Trophy reaching triple figures in 48 balls against Jharkhand.

As a part of his contract with SG over a period of three years, Pant will endorse SG cricket equipment across all formats of the game, as per the statement issued by Professional Management Group (PMG). “SG has been providing quality equipment to players all over the world, and I am proud to be associated with a brand of this calibre,” said Pant.

Earlier his name was also thrown as a replacement for injured Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha in the team. But it was senior pro Parthiv Patel who made the cut and thus his comeback in the Test team after a gap of 8 years. Chairman of selectors MAK Prasad acknowledged Pant’s talent as well as performance but said the 19-year-old was needs some time to be ready for the challenge of Test cricket.

“I had a long discussion with Rishabh Pant and I explained the roadmap to him, and I have shown him the picture that lies ahead of him, where he is, where he should be heading, how he can get there,” Prasad said.
