Rohit Sharma has been badly missed by the Indian Cricket team at the moment. With Shikhar Dhawan out of form, India are short of openers and are finding a way out through a makeshift opener KL Rahul at present. The man from Mumbai was hitting form as he scored three fifties against the New Zealanders in the Test series and did well in the One Dayers as well.

Rohit showed a glimpse of form on his return from the previous injury but again got injured during the last One-Day International against the Kiwis. He scored 70 in that match as well. He had to go under the knife to overcome that obstacle and missed the whole England tour.

Just when he was getting to his consistent self in Tests Rohit was held back by the injury gods. But the 29-year-old recently confirmed that he is fit and set to feature for Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017. He will play in the matches on 4th and 6th of this month. Mumbai are currently sitting in the middle of the table winning two out of three matches.

The addition of the Indian opener will surely add to their armory and the Aditya Tare led team will be bolstered. Rohit confirmed his return through Twitter. He tweeted saying that he has ended his rehabilitation successfully and also said that he cannot wait to take the field again.

The tweet read: “Finally done with rehab, lookCan’t wait to play Vijay Hazare on 4th & 6th. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here.Counting down the minutes.”

The fans were nothing but surprised and are relieved after hearing the news. Rohit will face Andhra Pradesh on 4th of March and will battle it out with Goa on 6th and the final league game of the competition.

He will continue to play for his domestic side if they progress to the next round. Mumbai looks good to enter the quarter-finals of the tournament and this means that Rohit could get more games under his belt.
