Sanjana Ganesan, the popular sports presenter, was over the moon after her husband, Jasprit Bumrah returned home following the postponement of the 2021 Indian Premier League. Even as Bumrah was a part of the Mumbai Indians, led by Rohit Sharma, Sanjana was one of the presenters during the tournament.

Both tied the knots back in the month of March. The Ahmedabad-born Bumrah had taken a leave from the home series against England after which he entered the wedlock.

After he returned home, Sanjana posted a picture where she can be seen, throwing a broad smile while sitting next to her loved one. The picture also shows the couple, wearing t-shirts of the same colour.

Earlier this week, Bumrah wished his wife on her birthday. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Happy birthday to the person who steals my heart every day. You’re my person, I love you.”

It’s unfortunate that the tournament had to stop midway: Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah had a decent outing in the 2021 IPL as he picked up six wickets from seven matches. Barring the game against the Chennai Super Kings where he went for over 50 runs, he was pretty much economical. As usual, he was frugal in the death overs.

He was a tad disappointed after the suspension of the IPL, but he also understood the need of the hour. In a video shared by MI’s official Twitter handle, Bumrah put forth his opinions.

“It’s unfortunate that the tournament had to stop midway but I think it was in everybody’s best interest to take care of everybody’s safety and well-being,” he said.

In the same video, Rohit, the MI skipper, hailed the decision of suspending the IPL keeping in mind the current scenario. He also urged the people to follow the precautionary measures, which includes wearing masks, sanitising hands and maintaining social distancing.

“It’s unfortunate that the tournament has been postponed. But in the light of everything that is happening around the country, I think it’s a very good decision. It’s very very important that we all look after each other. It’s a very serious matter. So please follow all the protocols, guidelines and stay disciplined,” Rohit said.
