Two spinners – one leg-spinner Yasir Shah and another offie who turns the ball the other way, Ravichandran Ashwin have been making lives difficult for the batsmen in the last year or so especially in the subcontinent. Yasir played the lead role in Pakistan’s victory in the first day-night Test in Asia against the West Indies yesterday as he finished with a match haul of 7 wickets.

He also achieved the feat of becoming the fastest Asian spinner to 100 Test wickets. Ashwin on the other hand, went past the 200-wicket mark in the recently concluded series against New Zealand where he picked 27 wickets in 3 Tests. He became the second fastest ever to 200 Test wickets.

Both the spinners have emerged as a great force and if we take the overall scene into consideration are the two best tweakers in international cricket at the moment. A leggie and another off-spinner reminds us of Shane Warner and Muttiah Muralitharan. The duo also dominated the scenes at the highest level for over a decade and it was seldom that the batsmen managed to get past them.

Warne today tweeted to congratulate both Yasir and Ashwin for their feats and said that he loves watching them bowl. The Australian legend has on multiple occasions guided the Pakistani in polishing his art and that has definitely helped him grow as a bowler.

‘Congrats @Shah64Y & @ashwinravi99 on your records. I hope this form continues on all surfaces around the world as I love watching u guys’ Warne wrote.

Ashwin who is enjoying a break at the moment since he was rested for the ODI series replied back and thanked the legend for his wishes and also said that it mattered a lot to him.

‘@ShaneWarne thank you so much, this wish from you means the world to me.’
