Shoaib Akhtar sends love from Pakistan on Sourav Ganguly's birthday

India and Pakistan cricket teams share an extremely competitive on-field rivalry. They interact really well with each other and share a mutual admiration. Shoaib Akhtar is one of those names that comes first when we speak about the mutual admiration.

‘One of the most important cricketers in India’

On several occasions earlier, Shoaib shared some great messages for the Indian cricketers. He doesn’t shy away from praising people from across the border despite being a very aggressive character on the field back in his playing days. Furthermore, Akhtar is the only cricketer from Pakistan to have wished Sourav Ganguly on his 46th birthday.

Ganguly and Akhtar played several games against each other. The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ troubled Dada on several occasions in his playing days. Ganguly being a predominantly off-side player had troubles playing the ball on the leg-side and Akhtar didn’t fail to exploit this weakness. But, at the same time, the southpaw played quite a few memorable knocks against the arch-rivals. Also, in an interview, Akhtar revealed that Sourav, being the great batsman that he was, never feared him.

The former Pakistan pacer took it to Twitter and shared a message for Ganguly. ‘1 of most important Crickter & captain in Hindustan history the person who made India believe that they can win against Pakistan & abroad ..Sourav ganguly.. happy birthday wish you best ..#SouravGanguly,’ he tweeted.
