The five-game Test series between India and England came to an end with the hosts winning it 4-1 in brilliant fashion. Led by Rohit Sharma, India lost the first Test of the series but won the remaining four and established their dominance against the visitors.

After the conclusion of the series, the Indian team continued its tradition of handing out medals for excellent efforts on the field. The fielding coach handed out medals for excellent fielding after every game of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Providing a unique twist, two fielding medals were awarded after the series. One for excellence in taking catches and the other for relentless efforts in the field. In a video that was shared by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket India), Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill shared the first medal, whereas Kuldeep Yadav won the relentless fielding award. “Any guesses who won the Fielding Medal for the series,” the BCCI captioned the post.

India dominate England across Test series

Speaking of the concluded series, the Indian team dominated England throughout the series. The five-game affair began in Hyderabad, where Ben Stokes-led England put forth a magnificent showing, and an Ollie Pope masterclass helped the visitors gain the lead in the series.

However, led by Rohit Sharma, India were brilliant in the next four matches and managed to clinch the series. Putting in excellent performances, the hosts toppled England and dominated them in every single game since their loss in the first Test.

Furthermore, after the series, several players will split and go on to play in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 17th edition of the marquee tournament is all set to kick off on March 22 with Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener of the tournament.
