Placed in a tricky situation ahead of the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup, South Africa are raring to take on Netherlands with a full-size squad as they face the Europen country for a two-match ODI series starting on March 31.
The squad for the upcoming ODI series, which was announced by Cricket South Africa on their official Twitter handle on March 27, includes all big names of South African cricket as with the World Cup qualifications at stake, the Temba Bavuma-led side is not willing to leave any stone unturned. Notably, it was the Netherlands that defeated South Africa in a crucial WT20 encounter to crash them out of the tournament.
After being rested in the series against West Indies, South Africa's pace batteries Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have been called back to the side. Nortje had earlier sustained an injury during the Test series against West Indies following which, he was released from the Test squad. Rabada, on the other hand, was given a break to recollect himself and was included in the T20 series that followed.
Apart from Rabada and Nortje, the South African pace attack also includes the likes of Wayne Parnel, Lungi Ngidi and Marco Jansen.
Out of the 13 teams playing competing in the ODI Super League, the top seven sides alongside hosts India will get direct entry to the main round of the World Cup whereas the bottom five sides will play in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe from June 18.

CSA denies NOC to players ahead of IPL 2023
Earlier, Cricket South Africa also took a strong stand by not giving their key players permission to play the Indian Premier League in order to avail their services in the all-important series against Netherlands. As a result, franchises would be devoid of the services of various top-tier players, who are set to miss the early part of the 16th IPL on account of national duties.
Teams such as Sunrisers Hyderabad who has a South African skipper would thus be looking to figure out a quick rearrangement at least for the first couple of matches lest the South African contingent arrives in India to take part in the remainder of the tournament.
