Sachin Tendulkar won the hearts of cricket enthusiasts once again as he invited para-cricketer Amir Lone to take strike for the first ball of the inaugural Indian Street Premier League (ISPL T10).

On Wednesday, March 6, Sachin was one of the many stars who arrived at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai. Amitabh Bachchan's Majhi Mumbai took on Akshay Kumar's Srinagar Ke Veer in an intriguing clash.

Sachin entertained the crowd like only he can as he hit Akshay for some massive sixes. Before the carnage, the former India captain walked out to open the innings alongside Amir and invited the para-cricketer to face the first ball of the one-of-a-kind league.

Sachin's heartwarming gesture received massive praise from the cricket fraternity. Irfan Pathan, Sachin's former India teammate, lauded the Mumbai batter for his wholesome gesture and showered praise on the inspirational Amir.

Amir, you are an inspiration! @sachin_rt Paaji what a beautiful gesture," Pathan wrote on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle.

Sachin was eventually dismissed by "Big Boss" winner Munawar Faruqui. The stalwart scored 30 off 17 balls, playing for Master XI against Akshay's Khiladi XI.

Who is Amir Lone?

Amir Hussain Lone suffered a life-changing accident at the age of eight. He was playing at his father's sawmill when the horrific accident resulted in the loss of both his arms. The Bijbehara-born didn't lose hope as he continued with his love for cricket. He also received immense support from his family. Lone received timely treatment thanks to his parents and an army unit in his village.

He developed a unique style as he started bowling with his legs and batted with the help of his neck and shoulder. Lone is an inspiration for people who feel that adversities can dent aspirations.

After he was introduced to para cricket by a teacher in 2013, Lone impressed everyone with his innovative skillsets and became the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir para-cricket team. Since then, he has led by example and his heroics have wowed the cricket world. Sachin also came to know about his talent and expressed his desire to meet him.
