‘Short of words to explain’ - Sachin Tendulkar expresses gratitude for wishes on 50th birthday

Widely regarded as one of the greatest batters in the history of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 50th birthday on April 24 and received a plethora of wishes from his fans and many stars of the cricket world.

The likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Yuvraj Singh, RP Singh, and many more came forward to wish the Master Blaster on his the special ocassion. With 15,921 runs in 200 Tests and 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs, Tendulkar stands as the leading run-scorer of both the formats. He has well earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike and that was reflected when many former and current stars wished him on his special day.

After he received the love, Tendulkar took to his social media handles to thank his fans and friends for extending many wishes to him.

"Along with the trophies you win on the field, the friendships off the field are what make life special. To receive all your love and affection in such abundance has been very heartwarming for me. I'm short of words to explain the warmth I’ve received with all the beautiful photos, videos, and messages that all of you have sent me. Thank you to everyone for the wishes. I’m not 50 - I’m a 25-year-old with 25 years of experience," he tweeted.

Sachin congratulates son Arjun for IPL debut

The Master Blaster received an early birthday gift this year, as his son Arjun Tendulkar made his debut for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Sachin recently took to social media to congratulate the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, Arjun has impressed with his performances in the ongoing T20 carnival, having taken three wickets in four games.

"Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back. You have worked very hard to reach here, and I am sure you will continue to do so. This is the start of a beautiful journey. All the best!" Sachin wrote after Arjun's debut.
