The Indian team had a tough time against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Blue were hammered to all parts by the Jos Buttler-led side and the ten-wicket victory with four overs to spare summed up India's outing. One of the key aspects of India’s loss was the top-order struggles yet again.
KL Rahul was dismissed for just five runs when it mattered the most and could not contribute to the team. The right-hander scored two half-centuries in the previous two games coming into the semi-final and was expected to take on England's bowling upfront. However, Rahul would not be happy with his performance overall in the tournament.
The 30-year-old scored 128 runs in six innings at an average of 21.33 and was nowhere near his best. In fact, this is not the first time he has crumbled under pressure in a big tournament. In the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, Rahul was dismissed for just one run while in the 2021 World Cup fixture against Pakistan, he could score three.
On account of the failures, one of India’s top online fashion stores Myntra trolled Rahul on Twitter, sharing a picture of a T-shirt that had ‘Out of the World’ printed on the front, which was cut to ‘Out'. "KL Rahul's fav t-shirt", Myntra wrote.

Meanwhile, Rahul has been named in the squads for the series against Bangladesh in Test and ODI formats and he will have to ensure he is back at his very best form soon.
